CNI Accepts Business Ethics Excellence Award 2010/2011

Congratulations to CNI Enterprise for being chosen as the recipient of the Business Ethics Excellence Award (Big Enterprise Category) from the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism on 9 December at Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The event is a joint effort of the Ministry, the Companies Commission of Malaysia, the Business Ethics Institute of Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Integrity since 2005 to encourage the corporate and private sectors to create systematic business code of ethics and the internalisation of excellent work ethics in their respective organisations.
The award is presented to selected local and multinational companies based on a set of criteria, namely the implementation of values such as honesty, fairness and integrity in relationships with customers, distributors, investors and the community besides embracing an exemplary procedure in fulfilling their corporate social responsibilities (CSR).
This year, 41 out of 55 participating companies had been identified to be eligible for the award which is a form of recognition by the Ministry to organisations that champion the cause of good business ethics in their business practices.
Responsive Welcome For 2nd Generation Leadership To Helm CNI

After CNI’s 21st year of establishment, the Founders and 1st generation Top Management have successfully groomed a new and young, but nonetheless mature, management team who are learned and experienced, amiable and wise. They have been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the management and MLM business affairs starting 2011.
CNI’s 3 Founders, Dato’ P. C. Koh, Tan Sia Swee and Liu TianJi, and two CNI Executive Directors, Chew Boon Swee and Sam Cheong, will team up to form the Active Board Council to advise the new CNI Top Management.
CNI Enterprise new Top Management is now headed by Sam Cheong, who has been elected as Chairman of Board of Directors, while Kelvin Koh has been elected as CNI Enterprise’s new CEO. Kelvin Koh is holding the sales and marketing portfolio of the MLM business. Executive Director, Shirley Wong continues to oversee the company’s financial, administrative and purchasing matters; Executive Director, Chan Kok Liang holds the distributors’ education and training portfolio as well as supply chain management, product quality control and management system. Vice President, Kenny Ong oversees human resource along with staff training and development and IT-related matters while Senior Manager, Idril Idris is at the helm of Corporate Communications & Distributor Relations.
CNI will continue to stress on the spirit of unity under this new management and top priority is given to the development of high quality performance and maximisation of existing human resource and facilities. The launch of new startegies will emphasise on quality and quantity, implementation agility, core values and enhanced productivity and lifestyle, in tandem with customers’ needs.
MLM business is about duplication that needs to be implemented continuously. We are happy to witness our leaders diligently executing their succession plan that involves their children and downlines to continue the CNI business into the future.
CNI Shares Christmas Joy With 100 Children From Welfare Homes

Shah Alam: It was a day of fun and merriment at Wisma CNI where CNI Holdings Berhad through its charity arm, Yayasan CNI hosted a Christmas party for about 100 children from various welfare homes.
The children from Ozanam Klang, Rumah Kebajikan SVP, PJ Agathians Shelter and Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam were treated to a sumptuous buffet lunch. Besides that, they were entertained by a magician, children’s martial arts performance, a live rendition of music from the Chinese Orchestra and had a fun-filled day participating in the games and activities organized.
President of Yayasan CNI, Datin Angeline Koh said the event was part of the company’s community outreach programme to bring joy and cheer to the less fortunate.
“We want these children to know that they are not neglected by society and as Malaysians, we value and respect the relationship with our fellow citizens regardless of race or religion.”
Guest-of-honour for the event, Selangor State Senior Executive Councillor for Investment, Industry and Trade, YB Teresa Kok together with CNI’s directors and staff mingled with the children throughout the various activities arranged.

Get Away To The Remarkable Taiwan

Taiwan welcomed all Malaysia achievers of CNI’s 20 Golden Years Taiwan Trip Incentive 2010 for an exciting holiday that lasted for a memorable 7 days and 6 nights. The trip covered Taiwan major city like Jiaoxi, Hualien, Taipei and Kaohsiung. Apart from visiting tourist attractions like Hsueh Shan Tunnel (Man Made Marvel), Taroko National Park, Chiang Kai-Sek Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum, the group also made a stop at Taipei 101 to enjoy breathtaking scenery from building consists of 101 storeys with 508km tall. The achievers also attended a meaningful business seminar in conjunction with Taiwan 2nd Anniversary to help build their CNI career. The 2nd Anniversary Gala Dinner themed “The Great China Night” was a delightful wrap-up to the holiday. Our achievers had an amazing trip to Taiwan and this holiday is a booster for them to achieve more great incentives from CNI.
CNI Collaborates With BiotechCorp & UPM On Super Critical Fluid Technology

A Memorandum of Collaboration is formalised between CNI Holdings Berhad and Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (BiotechCorp) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) on 1 November 2010 at KLCC.
The MoC mission is to have a collaborative work on the use and exploitation of the Super Critical Fluid (SCF) technology and the Extraction and Particle Formation applications in the research and production of novelty products.
The MoC is targetted at developing and producing health foods and pharmaceuticals using CO2 technology, an eco-friendly process. This will also help CNI to strengthen its ability and capacity of producing standardized natural product extracts of high purity, quality and consistency. The project provides CNI a platform to learn the know-how in the extraction and fractionation of local natural sources, thus stimulating the growth of the local biotechnology industry.
The use of Super Critical Fluid (SCF) in extraction is an interesting alternative technique compared to conventional technique of liquid extraction because this new method can save energy, optimise profit and is environmental friendly.
Perlis & Kedah Flood Victims Receive Helping Hand From CNI

Yayasan CNI steps in to contribute RM100,000 worth of emergency aid to flood victims in the recent natural disaster
Alor Setar - 12 November 2010 Yayasan CNI, the charity foundation set up by CNI Holdings Berhad, has promptly stepped in to provide emergency aid to many flood victims affected by the recent major floods in the northern states of West Malaysia.
More than 35,000 people in Perlis and Kedah have been evacuated to various relief centres, as conditions have worsened over the past few days with closure of roads, rail services, schools and government offices in the two states.
“As part of Yayasan CNI’s commitment towards providing assistance to those who need them most, we have quickly organised ourselves internally with the aim of providing humanitarian aid to these flood victims in the shortest time possible,” said Mr Kelvin Koh, an Executive Director of CNI Holdings Berhad, speaking to reporters at the emergency aid hand-over ceremony held at its Distribution Centre in Alor Setar today.
Yayasan CNI is handing out basic necessities and food supplies worth a total of RM100,000 directly to the flood victims and targeting close to 800 families in the affected areas. These said items comprise of rice, soya milk, fruit juice, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, shower cream and other personal care items.
“We will quickly distribute these items to the 800 families in the next 24 hours or so, as these are critical time for families, especially those with young children as they need to be fed and kept nourished,” added Mr Koh.

Tourism Selangor Endorses C3 As The Latest Tourist Destination

Success is CNI’s again as C3 is selected as the new tourist attraction of Selangor, thus making it a tourist destination for locals as well as foreigners! In relation to this, 36 “Honey Beach” beauty pageants from China were invited as special guests of C3 on 6 October 2010. Also present for a special visit of C3 on that day were Tourism Selangor General Manager, Noorul Ashikin bt. Mohd Din, and her delegates. A Selangor Tourist Destination Certificate was later presented by Noorul Ashikin to CNI’s CEO, Sam Cheong, in a special ceremony witnessed by the “Honey Beach” beauties.
The beauty pageants are the finalists chosen out of 5000 belles from the “Honey Beach” TV programme in Shanghai, China recently. The great ratings received by this programme have made it an international success. The “Honey Beach” beauty queens’ holiday in Malaysia was covered by Shanghai mass media and CNI believe that their visit to C3 has helped further publicise CNI products in China.
Yayasan CNI Donated For a Better Comfort

Recently on 1st May 2010, Yayasan CNI have donated furniture to S.K. Medothist (ACS) Melawis Klang. The event was witnessed by Mdm. Yeoh Mee Ee (Principle), Ms. C. Koshy (Senior Asst. Of Student Affair), Mr. Chew Song Kong (Chairman Of Food Charity Basket) and Mr. Wahab (Canteen Operator). There were 33 pieces table and 133 pieces worth of RM8,000.00 above, these donated furniture was placed at their school canteen for a better environment.

CNI has recently been active in upgrading Sales Points (SP) into electronic Sales Points (eSP). Meanwhile, new eSPs are established in towns, housing areas, apartment bolcks and villages for the convenience of suburbanites and upcountry dwellers to enjoy CNI services and products.

New “CNI Healthy Living Store” Name & Signboard

In line with CNI’s rebranding exercise, a new name and signboard will be used in all Retail Centres and Distribution Centres.
“CNI Healthy Living Store” signboard will replace “Distribution Centre” and “Retail Centre” signboards while the colour light green, a symbol of health and vitality, will be the theme colour.
Via rebranding, we hope that the community will be able to know more about CNI’s varied range of quality products and services and share this information with their friends and relatives, so that more people can enjoy an uplifting life.

Congratulations to 68 LTS Cameron Highlands qualifiers who won an exciting 3 days and 2 nights holiday. The qualifiers got to dine in cool, fresh air every day. They also visited the Rose Farm, Strawberry Farm and purchase fresh vegetable, fruits, and cactus at very low prices. A visit to the BOH Tea Plantation was an enchanting experience as they sipped a cup of high tea, the English style. Qualifiers also attended a meaningful business seminar to help build their CNI career. A gala dinner themed “Back To School” was a delightful wrap-up to the holiday. Apart from visiting places like Big Buddha, Mosque, Songkhla Old Town, followed by Tang Kuan Hill, Samila Beach and Floating Market. While enjoying the time at the stunning city of Hatyai, the qualifier as well attended a beneficial business seminar to grind their skills. They had a delightful dinner at Kaosean. Among Top 20 Finalists for StarBiz-ICR Malaysia Corporate Responsibility Awards 2009

It was a proud moment when CNI was shortlisted as one of the top 20 finalists for the StarBiz-ICR Malaysia Corporate Responsibility Awards 2009.
The competition was stiff with 334 publiclisted companies vying for the four awards ie. Workplace, Environment, Community & Marketplace each under two categories (market capital) - Above RM1billion & Below RM1billion.
On hand to receive the finalist plaque was Chew Boon Swee, Executive Director, CNI Holdings Berhad. The plaque was presented by Datin Linda Ngiam, Managing Director cum Group CEO of The Star Publications (M) Bhd and witnessed by Datuk Johan Raslan, ICR Malaysia Chairman on 5 March 2010 at the awards presentation held at Nikko Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
The award, into its second year, is a programme jointly organized by The Star Publications and the Institute of Corporate Responsibility Malaysia and supported by the Securities Commission and Bursa Malaysia. Its working partners are the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Pricewaterhouse-Coopers and the Securities Industry Development Corp.
Puchong LivUp Healthy Living Store

CNI’s maiden Retail Centre, Liv Up! Healthy Living Store in IOI Boulevard, Puchong was given a celebratory opening on 14 March. The official opening was graced by CNI Holdings’ Chairman, Dato’ P.C. Koh, and accompanied by the Board of Directors and Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Direct Sales Unit’s Assistant Director, Noradila Ahmad Nizar.
Members of the public flocked the carnival to have a taste of our freeflow of coffee served from the Up café mobile counter and surveyed many attractive counters like a counter offering free tests for blood sugar level, blood pressure and body fat, CNI products and cosmetic counter, Otak-Otak Place and games counter. Visitors were also given the priviledge to enjoy 15% discounts when dining at Otak-Otak Place on that day, in line with the strategic business partner programme between these two businesses.
The old and young from all races together with distributors from Central Region and other regions had given a sizzling response to the carnival programmes that offered attractive prizes. Among those were a Lucky Draw that gave away WaterLife and PerfectChef sets as main grand prizes besides other gifts worth RM10,000.00.
Lion dance world champion, Kun Seng Keng Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe performed their popular “High Pole Lion Dance with Malaysian Drums” featuring various traditional drums representing the three main cultures of Malaysia. Their masterly stunts on the high poles captivated the audience to no end. Famous entertainer, Helmi Gimmick, was a constant humour as he weaved his way around as the “Prosperity God” in the ‘ang pau hunt’ session. He also performed a cultural Chinese art of “Mask Changing” with a touch of 1Malaysia skillfully which won him a loud applause from the satisfied audience.
